K50 • Walnut bowl

One-of-a-kind, 12-inch hand-turned Claro walnut bowl.

Available immediately

Jim, a local "artist in wood," has been interested in woodworking since he was 18.

He progressed from an old Shopsmith in the garage to a medium-sized modern wood shop attached to his home. Since retiring in 2004 from the Metropolitan Fire Dept., he has worked at developing his talents. He enjoys making one-of-a-kind items like pens, goblets, and serving pieces along with furniture such as tables, entertainment centers, buffets, and cabinets. He seldom makes the same item twice, saying, “That is too much like a job.” He has taken classes from renowned instructors at the Craft Supplies USA Woodshop in Utah. He has also attended individual classes taught by David Marks, who had his own national TV program (Wood Works on DIY network) several years ago.

Jim is presently on the board of Sacramento Area Woodworkers (SAW).

During the past 10 years, he has served as program director, secretary, and member-at-large. He has taught individual and group classes for this group. He is also a member of the Nor-Cal Woodturners. Finished with food-safe mineral oil. Hand wash. Do not soak. Food safe finish. Bee's wax finish.

Note: The buyer is responsible for delivery costs beyond 100 miles of central Sacramento.
