2012 Betz Cote Rousse Syrah-95 Points Wine Advocate
This diverse blending material ultimately gives a more complex wine, especially from a “terroir –dominant” region like Red Mountain. The 2012 comes across with classic Red Mountain signature: a powerful, dense nucleus of black fruits, supported by layered complexity of violet, dusty gravel, leafy underbrush, spice and black olive. The palate is bold, vigorous and persistent, jammed with blackberry, black plum and spice. It’s the sturdiest of our three 2012 syrahs, most demanding of cellaring; its concentration and sheer power will easily support a decade or two in your cellar.
Corliss 2012 Red Wine - 95 Jeb Dunnuck - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2012 Columbia Valley Red Wine is another rock star Bordeaux blend that’s made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Cabernet Franc, 13% Merlot, and the balance Petit Verdot and Malbec. It was aged 28 months in 65% new French oak. Notes of cassis, tobacco leaf, lead pencil shavings and black currants all emerge from this rich, full-bodied and concentrated effort that has a big, layered texture, no hard edges and impeccable balance. It’s slightly more approachable than the straight Cabernet.
2009 Owen Roe Dubrul Cabernet
The 2009 is powerful and masculine with flavors of rich black fruits, deftly interwoven with notes of wild violet and mocha. Luscious blackcurrant is mingled with flavors of purple sage and savory herbs, all of which come together on a beautifully structured, long finish. This wine will age beautifully."
