I just tried to bid the minimum next bid of $180

I just tried to bid the minimum next bid of $180 but I kept seeing a red message "Please enter at least the minimum next bid of $180". I even tried to submit a higher bid of $190 but the red message appeared again. Please explain why this happens. I assume that my bid didn't go through.
